Sizing Reference

Size Guide

Understand what each chart measures, how measurements should be taken, and which sizing information applies to the garment you are reviewing.

Measurement Types

Know what you are comparing.

A sizing chart may describe the customer’s body or the finished garment. These measurements are not interchangeable, so check the chart label, units, and product context before selecting a size.

Body Measurements Measured on the customer

Measurements taken around or along the body according to the approved measurement method.

Compare these values only with a chart clearly labeled as body measurements.

Garment Measurements Measured on the finished garment

Measurements taken from the physical garment according to the approved garment-measurement method.

These values describe the garment itself and should not be treated as body measurements.

How to Measure

Follow the method that belongs to the chart.

Measurement instructions must match the chart being used. Confirm whether you are measuring the body or the finished garment before recording any values.

Size Charts

Compare the right measurements.

Use only the chart that matches the measurement type and garment you are reviewing. Body measurements and finished garment measurements should not be compared as though they describe the same thing.

Each completed chart must clearly identify its units, approved size range, and the products or styles it applies to.

Fit Guidance

Use fit information in context.

A measurement chart provides the approved values for a size. Product-specific guidance explains how that information applies to the garment being reviewed.

When a product has its own chart or fit note, use that information rather than assuming one general sizing rule applies to every garment.
